Join us for an opening event, including a lecture and booking signing, for a photo exhibit inspired by the new book Inspired by Nature: The Garfield Park Conservatory and Chicago’s West Side by Julia Bachrach and Jo Ann Nathan at the Chicago Architecture Foundation, 224 S. Michigan Ave.  The exhibit tells how nature, horticulture and urban design shaped the Garfield Park Conservatory, one of the nation's most stunning and intriguing botanical havens.  Free and open to the public.

One of the nation’s most stunning and intriguing botanical havens, the Garfield Park Conservatory, will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2008. Bachrach, co-author of Inspired by Nature, will talk about the Conservatory’s history and Garfield Park’s role in the revival of the neighborhood. A book signing will follow the lecture.
